The President of the Republic inaugurates the Boughezoul–Djelfa–Laghouat railway line

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Sunday in Djelfa, inaugurated and put into service the Boughezoul (Médéa)–Djelfa–Laghouat railway line, covering a distance of 250 km and designed for a speed of 220 km/h.

The President of the Republic, who arrived in Djelfa in the morning for a working and inspection visit, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), Army General Said Chanegriha, and members of the Government, and where he was welcomed by civil and military authorities, elected officials, and local notables of the province, proceeded to the commissioning and inauguration of this North–South line, as well as a multimodal passenger and freight transport station located in the south-east of the city of Djelfa.

Following the inauguration ceremony, the President of the Republic inspected the various facilities of the multimodal station of the railway line in the capital of Djelfa province, which was built according to international standards and features modern architecture reflecting the high level of expertise of national companies.

According to explanations provided on site to the President of the Republic, a 321 km railway network has been completed within the province by 100% Algerian expertise. It is expected to make a significant contribution to transforming this agro-steppic province into a new stage of sustainable development.
